Leonardo García Sanjuán. "Mobility Patterns and Paleodietary Insights into Humans and Cattle at the Copper Age Mega Site of Valencina (Seville, Spain) Through δ18O and δ13C Isotope Analyses."
"The mega-site of Valencina is currently a major focus of interest for the study of Copper Age Iberia. Remarkable megalithic monuments such as La Pastora, Montelirio or Structure 10.042-10.049 at PP4-Montelirio are found alongside hundreds of other features, including pits and large-sized ditches, some of which have yielded evidence of exotic material craftsmanship without parallels in Iberian Late Prehistory which also suggests long-distance contacts.

Part of the flourishing experienced by Valencina in the 3rd millennium BC can be explained by its specific geographic location at the mouth...

Ceramic Production in Ancient Nasca: Provenance Analysis of Pottery from the Early Nasca and Tiza Cultures through INAA
We report the results of an instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) undertaken on a regional sample of pottery from the Southern Nasca Region. The samples included specimens primarily from the Early Nasca (ca. A.D. 1e450) and Tiza (ca. A.D. 1000e1476) cultures from a total of 16 different prehispanic sites. The results of the analysis demonstrate centralized production of Early Nasca polychromes and decentralized production of pottery from the Tiza culture. The results of this analysis confirm previous conclusions about the organization of these two indigenous cultures of the south...

Households, Crafts, and Feasting in the Ancient Andes: The Village Context of Early Nasca Craft Consumption
Craft consumption in Early Nasca (ca. A.D. 1-450) society is explored by evaluating the use of polychrome pottery within the context of a residential village. Data are presented from the Early Nasca village, Marcaya, where excavations utilizing a household archaeology approach revealed that most polychromes were consumed by households with high and low sta- tus alike, while certain vessel shapes were reservedfor high-status households. These findings challenge the common assump- tion that highly valued crafts were monopolized by elites in middle-range societies, and show instead that there...

Sarnevo. Pits from the Late Neolithic, the Early and Late Iron Age, and the Roman Period. Volume 1. The Late Neolithic pit field
In the last decade, several Late Neolithic and Chalcolithic (late 6th and 5th mill. BC) pit fields were identified and excavated in a large area significantly contributing to the knowledge of prehistoric ritual practices in the Eastern Balkans. After several millennia, in the Iron Age, the same places had been often used for similar purposes. Such is the case with the archaeological site of Sarnevo. It is located on the Azmaka Creek, in Radnevo Municipality, Stara Zagora District (Upper Thrace), and was excavated (total area of 6750 m²) over three seasons from 2008-2010, within the...
